This artist's book, "Children of the Sun" was created in 2022 and is housed in its own slip case with a single shell embellishment. It is a poem written by Pam Slattery in the 1990's to coincide with a solo exhibition of her paintings at the Upstairs Gallery in Cairns, Far North Qld., Australia. Only one copy has been made and the concertina style book measures 10 x 7 cm. The book and slip case are covered in linen cloth with a glass piece inserted into the front. Tiny seashells are encased behind the glass. The five illustrations are watercolour on Arches watercolour paper and each one measures 6 x 4 cm with digital printing for the text. The book and the slip case have been wholly made by Pam Slattery. |
